The Success System
Be. Do. Have.
Change the person and the behaviours creating the result.
Where most people start
Most people begin with what they want to have.
More money. A better business. Better relationships. Better health. More confidence. More freedom.
All reasonable things to want.
But Have is the end of the chain. The deeper leverage sits further upstream.
The model
Three levels, one direction of travel.
Thoughts. Beliefs, identity, mindset and the story you run about what is possible.
Feelings. Your emotional state and the confidence, energy and drive you operate from.
Actions. Habits, decisions, discipline, focus and communication.
Relationships. Career. Business. Health. Finances. Lifestyle. Experiences. Fulfilment.
Feelings influence actions.
Actions create results.
Results influence the thoughts and beliefs that come next.
Which is why the system is a cycle rather than a ladder. What you create changes what you believe you are capable of creating.
Be
Who you are being.
What you believe about yourself, other people and what is possible sets the range of what you will attempt. Beliefs influence which opportunities you notice, what standards you hold, how you lead, what you decide and how you behave when a situation gets difficult.
Two people with the same information and the same opportunity behave differently, and the difference is usually here.
This isn't positive thinking.
The objective is to identify what is actually driving behaviour, test whether it remains useful, and change what is costing you.
Do
How you behave and what you consistently do.
Results are created by what you repeatedly do, not by what you intend to do.
Behaviour driven only by force tends to leak under pressure. It holds while motivation is high and disappears in a difficult week.
Behaviour aligned with identity becomes more repeatable, because you are no longer arguing with yourself about whether to do it.
Have
The results you create.
Results are feedback. They show what the current combination of Be and Do is creating.
Read that way, an unwanted result stops being a verdict on you and becomes information about the system producing it.
The point of the system
Most people try to change Have directly.
New target. New tactic. More hours. More effort.
Sometimes that produces a temporary result. But an unchanged operator can eventually recreate the same patterns, which is why the same problems reappear in a different business, a different role or a different year.
The objective is to work further upstream.
Apply it
Put the system into practice.
